AMYAA celebrated international womens day along with different SHGs of Roing. International Women’s Day is celebrated all over the world every year on the 8th of March. The programme began with a warm welcome from Rk Paul Chawang Director of Amyaa.
Chawang stated ” International Women’s Day provides a specific and designated moment each year to identify and celebrate the successful achievements of women. Through celebrating success, populations not only become more appreciative of the role women play in contributing to society but awareness and expectation is increased that women will not be marginalised, discriminated against or absent from future successes moving forward.
Cake cutting was done to mark the importance of the day along with dance from Amyaa team. It was indeed a great gesture for women, to take some time out of their busy schedule and spend quality time with the organisation. The day was filled with excitement and ended with a sweet lunch provided by the organisation.
