In a shell-shocking incident, a baby was found abandoned at Midland, Roing in Lower Dibang Valley district on Sunday and in this regard, Roing police station registered a case against unknown persons for abandoning the infant.
A release from Chidline Roing today said that the abandoned baby, wrapped in soft blanket & kept in a bag, was found by one Osu Lego at the backyard of her residence at Midland, Roing on October 27.
She then informed the Roing Police and accordingly, a police team led by Inspector Amo Pansa rescued the abandoned baby and handed over to General Hospital, Roing for medical check-up and care.
According to a doctor, the baby is about 9-10 days old. A medical examination was conducted for the baby who was found to be healthy though born prematurely.
Baby is under the care of District Hospital, Roing. Childline Roing, a team of which led by director RK Paul Chawang visited the hospital after being informed of the incident, informed that the case has been forwarded to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Roing, while adding that final decision will be taken by CWC for the well being of the baby.
