The training Programme on Tailoring for matured SHGs of Lower Dibang Valley District under Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) began with the inaugural function cum training today at AMYAA NGO office, Roing.
The programme is sponsored by the National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD). A total of 30 members from different SHGs of Lower Dibang Valley District are undergoing in the training on tailoring. The training program has been arranged in such a way that women attendees could start their own ventures.
The training program was attended by Shri Nitya Mili (DDM), Shri P B Chetry (Branch Manager, APRB), and facilitated by R.K. Paul Chawang (Secretary) and staffs of AMYAA.
In the inaugural speech, R.K. Paul Chawang, explained how this training would target at helping the Rural Women to get skilled in Tailoring for micro enterprise development. This would empower household wives for better income and self-sustenance. He also emphasized the scope and importance of skill training that would enhance the socio–economic status of rural masses, especially women entrepreneurs.
DDM NABARD Nitya Mili, briefed on MEDP and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Bunkar Yojana for the benefit of rural women and Self Help Groups (SHGs). P.B. Chetry spoke on the importance of getting skills through proper training. He encouraged the participants to become Entrepreneurs to start their own business and to bring extra income to their families. He assured the trainees to avail bank loans if they come up with proper business plans.
The AMYAA NGO with her various long term and short term programme follows the bottom –top approach aims at redefining the lives of poor in the targeted areas of the organization.
